Xperia 1 VI, 10 VI, vivo X100s, X100s Pro and X100s Ultra Official, Week 20 Review – GSMArena.com News

It’s been a big week for announcements. Sony kicked things off with the announcement of the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI. The Xperia 1 VI put an end to the 4K display, but made up for it with a brighter and smarter 1080p panel and increased the telephoto zoom range to 170mm. Sony’s flagship also packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 5,000mAh battery that puts most other flagships to shame, and a cool, distinctive design. The phone will arrive in June starting at €1,399 and we have a review.

The Xperia 1 VI did away with what it didn’t need and made everything else better. It will be released in June for 1399 euros.

Its official opening is only a few hours away.

No, the Xperia 5 VI probably won’t be present, but the changes to the Xperia 1 VI alone should be enough to carry the show.

Sony is finally ditching the 21:9 aspect ratio in favor of the more common 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Hands-on photos of the Google Pixel 9 series have leaked. The leak details a trio of new Pixels – the regular compact 9 with two cameras, the compact Pro with three cameras, and the Pro XL with three cameras. Expect all three with Google’s Tensor G4, 50MP sensors, and tons of smart AI features this fall.

The X100 series from Vivo is here. The X100 Ultra is naturally better. It has a 1″ LYT-900 primary sensor and an even more impressive 200MP periscope camera that uses a 1/1.4″ ISOCELL HP9 sensor co-developed with Samsung. It has an f/2.67 aperture and an 85-equivalent focal length mm and also has a Zeiss APO coating, which should result in improved sharpness and reduced fringing at the edges of up to 3.7x optical zoom, 20% improved light sensitivity, and its telephoto macro mode offers 20x magnification. You also get industry-leading CIPA 4.5 telephoto stabilization.

Apart from the cameras, the X100 Ultra has a 5500mAh battery with 80W and 30W wired and wireless charging, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It starts at 6,499 yuan ($898), but it won’t leave China.

Vivo X100s and X100s Pro are powered by Dimensity 9300+ SoC with 3.4 GHz Cortex-X4 main core. The Vivo X100s Pro pairs its chipset with the vivo V3 imaging chip, while the vanilla model still uses the older V2 chip. The X100s Pro has a 1/0.98-inch primary sensor with an f/1.75-inch lens (1G+7P) and OIS. It is joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide (1/2.76”, f/2.0, 15mm) and a 50-megapixel periscope with floating OIS lens (1/2”, f/2.5, 4.3x). The X100s gets a smaller 50MP main module (f/1.57”) and a 50MP ultra-wide module. The telephoto camera has a periscope design with a 50 MP sensor (f/2.57, 3x). Both phones have 32-megapixel selfie cameras with an f/2.0 lens.

The Vivo X100s has a 5100mAh battery with 100W wired charging, while the Pro has a 5400mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

They should become official in October.

Its 1/1.4″ ISOCELL HP9 sensor, co-developed with Samsung, is the largest telephoto sensor mounted on a smartphone to date.

The vanilla X100s also has a larger battery than the original X100 (despite being thinner than it), thanks to improvements in battery technology.

Finally, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will likely ditch the dedicated 3x zoom camera and replace it with a zoom option with a 200-megapixel primary camera sensor. 3x is the smallest sensor on the back of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it made sense to upgrade or ditch it. Unfortunately, it’s the latter.

Finally, Poco has confirmed that the F6 and F6 Pro will launch on May 23.

It will be replaced by supposedly better software processing.

The two phones will be unveiled on May 23.

The flagship killers of 2024 are coming.
