Apple’s next-generation AirTag tracking is slated to launch in mid-2025, BloombergMark Gurman reports.
In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Gurman discussed Apple’s work on a next-generation version of the AirTag, codenamed “B589.” Currently, Apple is completing production tests with partners in Asia, and the launch of the new tracker is still planned for the middle of next year. The new model will apparently have an upgraded chip and enhanced location tracking capabilities.
In October 2023, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that mass production of the second-generation AirTag has been delayed from the fourth quarter of 2024 to sometime in 2025.
